this thanksgiving, I (half-)converted a couple of old nautical lamps into hanging speakers. over winter break, I’m going to put some thin (but opaque) cloth over the front to cover the speakers, then I’m going to dangle them from the ceiling. so far, the project clocks in at 2.5 hours, and should take only a couple more to finish completely. I had to remove two of these awesome covers to fit the speaker inside, so I’ll have to think up a use for those. more photos here.
